The school and the department have formulated reasonable and feasible rules to guide students' enrollment, graduation, and employment. At the same time, we have developed relevant tutoring methods to encourage students to participate in internal, external or international competition. There are also relevant counselling methods (such as academic counseling time, student guidance time, early warning system, etc.) to track the results of implementation, and to implement the guidance and evaluation of students, continuously and effectively.
Achievement of educational goals
Our school and department provide various scholarships and various types of subsidies to reward students for participating in competitions and international conferences. Students can apply for the "Department of Electrical Engineering Scholarship", the "Fu-Jen University Award (Assistance) Scholarship", and the "Institute of Technology Award Bursary".
Communicating with industry and academia
In order to encourage students to communicate with the industry and academia, the department provides various measures, subsidies and methods. The categories include community activities, participation in domestic and foreign academic seminars, exchange of students, domestic and foreign internships, various scholarships/grants, internal and external campus or international competitions, and so on. The activities include:- Holding "Thematic Experimental Achievements Exhibition": The "Thematic Experiments" course will be held in juniors and seniors, thereby cultivating students' core abilities, and improving the effectiveness of integration learning. Arranging the exhibition of thematic results at the time of the Alumni Association enables students to display the learning results, and also leaves alumni better understand the current situation of teaching and research in the department.
- Holding "Research Thesis Presentation Conference": In order to promote students' solid foundation and creative use of their knowledge, and provide opportunities for master's students (including master's on-job classes) to present their research results, and to promote undergraduate students' understanding of the research results of this department, the Department holds the " Research Thesis Presentation Conferencen" in May every year.
- Participation in corporate internships: The department attaches great importance to the integration of learning and use of the curriculum. Students are encouraged to use the internships to enter the industry experience and learn as early as possible to contact the industrial environment to improve their employability in the future. The internship can be divided into two credits for summer and part-time on weekdays, or nine credits for full semester full-time, depending on company needs. The department has set up the "Subsidy Measures for Students from the Department of Electrical Engineering of Fu-Jen University" and "Implementation of Industrial Internships" related regulations. The internship sites are approved by the Industrial Internship Committee of the department. At the same time, an internship/recruitment meeting will be held every year, and the company will arrange representatives to introduce the job opportunities and content. The department's office will summarize the internship opportunities provided by various manufacturers and makes announcements at any time.
- Organize corporate visits: In order to connect the theories and practices learned by students, we regularly handle various related corporate visits, leading students to interact with the company. Through actual and personal practices process, students can understand the development vision, corporate culture, current field environment, and industry trend changes of various industries, strengthen students' understanding of the job market and plan learning goals early. In recent years, the Alumni Association has also actively assisted in arranging industry visits. Through the rich contacts of the alumni members, the content and depth of industry visits have been further enhanced.
- Attendance at International Seminar: In order to encourage students' participation in foreign seminars, the Department has set up a “Subsidy Scheme for Graduates of Department of Electrical Engineering to Attend International Conferences". This policy can provide students with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with foreign language, and further improve their foreign language skills through exposure to relevant international knowledge and culture.
- Joing Intra-school community: Teacher groups with different specialties together form a "industry-academia cooperative teaching community. Through the gathering of this community, manufacturers are also invited to participate in the discussion, exchange of research experience, and direct introduction of this related technology into the special courses of the department to improve the learning effectiveness of students' combination of professional theory and practice.
- Joining off-school academic competitions: The results of students participating in off-school competitions are an indicator of the effectiveness of learning. Performance includes outstanding performance in competitions, or awards for oral presentations or dissertation quality during meetings. In order to encourage students to attend various disciplines and design competitions at home and abroad, and to enhance student competition, the Department has set up the "Methods for the Training of Elite Teams in Off-School Competitions". If awarded the competition award, the director of the department asked the school to give the award according to the "Fu-Jen University Student Achievement Award and Academic Competition Awards".
- Organize cross-faculty academic and art competitions: The department and the related departments of the school jointly organize academic competitions, including "robot competitions" and "computer programming competitions". The R&D Office of our school holds a "commodity creative competition for R & D results". At the same time, co-organize skills competitions with enterprises.
- Participation in associations and extracurricular activities: In view of the students' interaction with associations and extracurricular activities, which helps to build and develop their personality traits, teamwork, and interpersonal relationships, the school has formulated many methods for student associations and extracurricular activities to provide guidance and assistance students engaged in related activities.
- Exchange betweeen foreign universities and our university: In order to fulfill the purposes and goals, strengthen the international academic and cultural exchanges, and assist students to repair credits abroad, in accordance with the "Fu-Jen University’s Key points for the selection of foreign cooperative agreement schools". The International Education Office co-organizes and exchange matters with sister schools. Students apply according to the "Fu Jen University Students' Overseas Course Selection Course".
- Attendence at short-term courses or special lectures by foreign scholars and experts: In order to enable students to have the basic ability to understand international professional knowledge, the department also actively starts from the expansion of teaching, and therefore, inviting well-known foreign scholars and experts to offer short-term courses or special lectures. It is hoped that this opportunity can provide students with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with majors in foreign language.
