To exploit students' interest and learning direction, cultivate students' innovative thinking and application ability, provide a space and assistance for students to exhibit, establish and develop creative products together with industry, integrate research and teaching resources related to innovation development inside and outside the school, and providing creative teaching and creation, College of Science and Engineering establishes a college-level "Innovation and Self-Creation Development Center", whicht is expected to promote and develop the innovation education, and cultivate students' practical application skills through the core concept of STEAM cross-disciplinary education. Using creative and innovative thinking, the students are able to solve problems and achieve commercialization. This can exhibit the information, professionalism and industrial strength of the University.
In order to develop the trend of innovative maker education in the University, cultivate students to create creative spirit and encourage the commercialization of students' works, the center uses the old warehouse school building to establish "514 Co-Working Corner" and "SF305 Maker Education Classroom", providing software and hardware digital tools and equipment for all kinds of Maker education and planning different types of Maker theme education activities to encourage the teachers and students to implement innovative cooperation style through cross-disciplinary hands-on activities. Finally, it is expected to receive the three-in-one multiplication effect of creation, display and commercialization. At the same time, our resources and experience in this field can give back and promote the Maker development of regional high schools and communities.
